Erik Larsen, PhD
In 2014, I completed my bachelor’s degree at Cal State Stanislaus, majoring in general biology and minoring in chemistry with a pre-medical focus.
In 2021, I completed my doctorate in neuroscience here at the University of Arizona, focusing on a novel protein involved in axon degeneration.
With a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics, my research interests have continued to be as varied across physiology as the methods used to study them. I relish basic science discovery and the impact of clinical and translational science on human health. To me, integrating these two aspects results in the most fulfilling research. I currently analyze clinical NGS data to advance our understanding of cancer to improve human health, longevity, and patient outcomes.
My hobbies include gardening, golf, triathlon, and soccer.
