The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix is seeking an outstanding academic leader to serve as the chair for the Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI). The ideal candidate will be dynamic and looking for an opportunity to implement a new vision to expand the department. This leadership position will be responsible for strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the education, research and other programmatic missions of the department.
The Department of Biomedical Informatics was created in 2013 to provide leadership in the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in clinical informatics by bringing together an interdisciplinary faculty to participate in programs in education, clinical service and research. The department is uniquely poised to participate in new ways of thinking, learning and teaching to advance clinical informatics, explore emerging applications of AI and improve the quality, safety, efficiency and outcomes of healthcare in Arizona.
Senior Health Data Phenotyper
Description
The Center for Biomedical Informatics & Biostatistics (CB2) is seeking applications for a Senior Healthcare Digital Phenotyper to join our Health Data Science Services (HDSS) Team. This position will work closely with researchers at the University of Arizona (UA) to formulate optimal data requests and phenotype definitions. It will serve as a bridge between the researchers and the technical data analysts. It will also collaborate with the Banner Research Warehouse team and other data partners to improve our research data pipeline.
The ideal candidate is someone who not only understands clinical coding, phenotype definitions, and phenotyping tools, but also, and more importantly, has the years of experience and the communication skills to work with researchers of all levels and with diverse staff across multiple organizations to improve our phenotyping and data access processes. This person will also oversee the development of training materials and messaging programs to broadly improve the secondary data analysis skills of our researchers.
This position will: design, implement, maintain, and improve digital phenotyping tools and methods; develop training materials to improve phenotype expertise across UA; and, oversee improvements in research data access across the Banner/UA collaboration.
