David Parizek, Jr. received his B.S. degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Arizona in 1993, with an eye to being a scientist. Life led him in other directions, and now, as an experienced senior programmer for CB2's Biomedical Informatics Services (BIS), he combines his life-long interest in both software engineering and science by creating web applications and software tools for scientists and clinicians. BIS collaborates with health investigators from across campus to help them integrate best-in-class technology -- from mobile phone applications to big data management -- into their research. Dave is currently especially captivated by the possibilities for mobile applications, machine learning, and data mining electronic medical records in support of eHealth projects and improved clinical outcomes. Dave is an active member of the UA's mHealth Special Interest Group (mhealth.arizona.edu).
